Back to School

Yesterday was my son's first day of school, and today, my daughters go. And of course, every time I bring this up, people ask me what I'm going to do with all the extra time. In my quest to appear semi-normal, I usually say things like sleep, work, or PARTY AT MY HOUSE. But really? I'll be doing one of these things:
  1. Learn how to crochet the Exorcist playset. Because the power of yarn DOES compel me.
  2. Researching what happens when you lock someone in a porta potty and tip it over, otherwise known as STARTING BOOK FOUR.
  3. Going to a roller derby practice and trying desperately to resist the urge to try out.
  4. Designing a time machine so that I don't have to do the second half of number 3.
  5. Selling the time machine on the black market so I don't have to do ANYTHING.
  6. Sleep a little, because let's be realistic here. It's gonna happen.

What are you up to these days?

Eeek! I have wanted to learn to crochet to make those cute little amigurumi animals for my daughter. Now I MUST LEARN TO CROCHET. I HAVE TO MAKE THE EXORCIST PLAYSET!!! Thanks!

Dayjob, kids, writing...I long for sleep.

I'm actually able to doze off sitting straight up now and I just pretend I'm resting my eyes.

eesh...even the crocheted Linda Blair freaks me out!

My life looks like this: writing, back-to-school insanity, coffee, staying up until 3:30 am with She Who Refuses to Sleep Like a Normal Human Child, writing, coffee, coffee, writing.

If you end up taking naps, can you not tell me. Or else I might have to hate you just a little bit. :)

Andrea: At one point, I had a whole herd of amigurumi ninjas all over the house, but I've given them all away. TOO much fun. :)

Marsha: You have mad skilz, woman. I am in envy. ENVY.

Vivi: None of my children slept like normal kids. They still don't. There's probably some lesson there, but I'm too sleep-deprived to know what it is.

Oh, how I envy you. I wish I could send my kids out the door and go back inside and DO WHATEVER I WANT. Sadly, I follow them out and go to work.

Roller derby... heehee. I just watched Whip It last week for the very first time. If you've not yet seen it, it would be some very entertaining research for you. (Also, it will make you want to be tough and throw elbows... at least it did me.)
