Lolzombies

I have discovered something that is made of awesome. For years, I've avoided all things LOL. I have run from lolcats, shook my head in befuddlement at loldogs, and uh... well, I can't think of anything else so please insert something else funny here. Anyway, I hereby take back any insulting lol-related comments that I have ever made. I discovered this.

Yeah, it's lolzombies.

Of course I made a few of my own.

I was going to do another title contest soon, but I'm tempted to do lolzombies instead. What you thinkz?

Things That Make Me Snarf - Steampunk LOLcats

This video puts me in the mood to make more lolzombies, but I think I've run out of dance movies. (For you newbie types, I made a bunch of lolzombies based on dance movies. Because haven't you always wanted to see a lol version of Dirty Dancing with zombies? I know I have.) So I need a new theme. I shall think on this, and you shall think on this, and hopefully no one's brain will explode. But in the meantime, enjoy THIS!

More Lolzombies

I cannot resist the urge to make more lolzombies. I was thinking that I should start a support group for lolzombie addicts, but something tells me that I would be the only member.

Singin in the Rain lolzombie and some featured items!

I love lolzombies! If you ask me, SINGIN' IN THE RAIN and lolzombies go together like...uh...

Let me get back to you on that.

And here are some featured items from Night of the Giving Dead! Not only are they awesome, but every dollar you bid goes straight to the hospital to put great books in the hands of sick kids. Which is the LEAST they deserve.

Bidding's starting to get competitive! Don't get left behind on the awesome!

Lolzombie of the Day - Footloose

Continuing our tradition of lolzombies spoofing dance movies, I give you:

THE FOOTLOOSE LOLZOMBIE.

If you didn't read that aloud in a booming voice, you did it wrong. I'll forgive you, of course, but I wanted you to know.

Lolzombie of the Day - The Wizard of Oz

Lolzombies and movie musicals. Does anything go better together? I mean, sure. There's chocolate and peanut butter. And chicken and telephones. But other than that...

NOM NOM NOM!

Sorry. Couldn't resist.

Lolzombie of the Day - Dirty Dancing

And here's today's lolzombie of the day!

It's clear that the world needs more lolzombies modeled after dance movies. Unfortunately, I'm running out of movies. I need another theme.

Um... help?

Lolzombie of the Day - Flashdance

The book is done! Done, I tell you!

Let's celebrate with a lolzombie. Today's lolzombie of the day is inspired by Flashdance, because lolzombies and dance movies go together like peanut butter and telephones.

Don't try to understand. Just nod and smile, and it will go easier for you.

Zombie Appreciation Week

Did you know that it's Zombie Appreciation Week? I am all about this. Frankly, I think part of the reason that zombies do all that eating of brains stuff is because they aren't appreciated enough.

And we all know what makes zombies feel appreciated, don't we? That's right.

More lolzombies.

Lolzombie of the Day - Oklahoma!

You ARE aware that I'm doing a series of lolzombies based on musicals, aren't you? Why am I doing this? Um...

Get back to me on that, will you? I need to think of a good justification that doesn't make me sound like a complete nutter.

Anyway, I'd like to present to you today's lolzombie, which comes to us courtesy of Oklahoma. The musical, not the state. I was quite surprised to find that Yahoo recognizes "zombies in cowboy hats" as a popular search. Facts like that restore my faith in the world.

Things That Maketh Me Happy

I cannot stop laughing at the lolthulhu. Almost as good as lolzombies.

If you want to know what zombie-Lincoln and ninja-vampires look like, check out this supernatural creature multiplication table. I'd like to have this as a poster on my wall.

Speaking of posters I want on my wall, have you seen this very useful poster that helps you determine if your book is publishable or not? (Hint: If it has a dinosaur in it, it probably is.)

Have you visited Shelli's blog yet? Shelli is such an awesome person, and she's been giving me such great marketing ideas that I'm officially naming her to the Semi Secret Society of the Blog Ninja. Even if you don't have a book deal yet, thou shouldst go and readeth her! I have proclaimed it!

Srsly. PROCLAIMED, people.

Monster Bash: Things That Make Me Snarf

I used to do this weekly feature on random internetty things that make me snarf stuff out my nose, and then I took a bit of a blog hiatus and stopped doing that. Well, today, my son's a little under the weather, so I'm going with a quick monster bash post, and what's better than some things that make me snarf?

Like these:

Also, let's revisit some of the dance movie themed lolzombies I made a while back. This one's my favorite:

Hee.

Don't forget to comment! One random commenter type person on a monster bash post will receive a full signed collection of all three Grable books! WOOT.

Lolzombie of the Day - Singin' in the Rain

ZOMG. I cannot believe how long it's been since I did a Lolzombie of the Day. For those of you unfamiliar with the whole thing, let me explain.

Er...it's kind of inexplicable. I mean, I could tell you that I've been posting lolzombies based on dance movies, but then you would ask the logical question. "WHY?!?!" And I would have no answer except that it makes me snarf. Hopefully this one makes you laugh too.

Frankly, I would pay good money to see a version of Singin' in the Rain with the Undead.

Lolzombies...and Night of the Giving Dead update

I'm attempting to chill out now, if by "chill out" you mean "leave the computer for at least an hour a day." So I've been looking through my archives for something that you might like to see again. And one of the things that I'm most proud of on this blog is the lolzombie series. I did a bunch of them based off of dance movies, because WHY THE HECK NOT?!? And I know a lot of you new people haven't seen them before. YOU MUST. They are snarfy, and snarfy is good.

I have a whole series of these...what dance movie do YOU want to see?

And while we're at it, you do know about Night of the Giving Dead, right? Short version--online auction to benefit book program at children's hospital. Two grand prizes up for grabs--a Kindle with a BTIB ebook and a 6 month writing mentorship. Check out the link for more info.

Don't have the time to go through all those items? Here are today's features!
  • I think this package of picture books and dragon puppets by the lovely Shelley Moore Thomas would make the world's most awesome baby shower gift. And as I'm writing, it's going for less than market value!
  • POWERLESS by Matthew Cody was one of my favorite books of 2010. It's got superheros and comic books and bullies and shady villains. This is one heck of a terrific middle grade read.
  • I'm not the biggest sports fan in the world, but I devoured Keri Mikulski's HEAD GAMES and STEALING BASES. Sporty girls + romance + school drama = awesome. These are quick YA reads for contemporary fans.
  • MG and YA writers, you need to check out Bettina Restrepo's critique prize! Not only will she critique 10 pages, but she'll follow up with a phone call to discuss your project. This could be exactly what you need to get through that roadblock!
  • Shhhh. Don't tell anybody, but there's a full YA manuscript critique by lovely agent Weronika Janczuk flying under the bidding radar right now. I won't tell anyone else if you don't.

Lolzombie of the Day - Saturday Night Fever

Yep. I'm still making lolzombies out of musicals. Yep. I'm still certifiably insane. But really, what goes better together than John Travolta and the undead?

You can't think of anything, can you?
