Read 50 Books in 2009 Wrapup

Holy bleepification. I've actually finished the Read 50 Books in 2009 Challenge, courtesy of the fabulousness that is PJ Hoover. Now what will I do with my time? I might have to, like, write my own book for a change.

Actually, I've been trying not to go too fast lest I give Fabulous Agent Kate a massive coronary. But that's beside the point. Let's get to the remainder of the haiku reviews, and then we'll discuss the lessons that I learned.

The Warded Man
A guy fights demons
Using magical tattoos
Hell's angel, indeed

Emily the Strange
My high hopes were dashed
A few moments of funny
But there's not enough

Eclipse
Yes, I did love it
Like I love things that are
Funny by mistake

Midnight Nation
Now, THIS is awesome
Mondo good graphic novel
It should be a film

Reader and Raelynx
How disappointing
Is it when a series just
Peters out? Le sigh.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
It's no big surprise
That I am starring this book
I snarfed out my nose

Thus endeth the 50 Books Challenge, and lo, was it made of awesome. But seriously, I have to ask. Did anyone pick up a book that was mentioned here? I'm trying to decide if the haiku reviews are worth continuing.

As for what I learned? That's easy. I learned that I read too frigging much.

Stay tuned tomorrow for another episode of Query Ninja. Humongously Awesome Hollan has volunteered to have her query MadLibbified.

It's not even June, Carrie. You could easily do 100 books in 2009.

(I might've missed this, but do you buy all you books, or are you a good and faithful library patron?)

Don't quit haiku reviews!!! They make me feel happy inside!!!

*LOL @ Eclipse review*

And...wow. WOW. You're already done 50 books?! I think I'm only at...er...maybe 20. MAYBE.

Great review of Eclipse!

Also, please take note that I gave you the appropriate shout-out on my blog yesterday....

You are truly made up of awesomeness! I don't know where you find the time.

Congratulations! Have you set a new goal?????
I'm at 32 so far, and I love the challenge. It's really kept me on track with the reading, and I love keeping track of all the pretty books!

And I, too, LOVE your Haiku reviews!

Yay! What a great goal to meet...and so quickly. It's sad, I don't think I've even made it to 10 this year yet. Too many MS revisions, arg.

Hopefully I can catch up soon.

50 books ALREADY!?! Holy haiku reviews! (Keep 'em comin'). The magical tattoos have me intrigued...
Eclipse was my fave of the series. I just finished Breaking Dawn yesterday.

Whoa, you're DONE ALREADY? I'm only at 20 and I was feeling pretty darn good to get that far.

I love the haiku reviews! And you've reviewed several books that I'm going to pick up (starting with Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, probably), I just have to get my next paycheck first. :)

Word verification: weepl. That's the word for sad people.

Holy brown cows! I'm bowing in shame. I think I've read 10. Congrats!

BPV: I bought less than a quarter of what I read. Most were library reads or loans from friends. Yay friends. :)

Beth: Then I shall continue doing them. I wouldn't want your insides to be unhappy.

Corey: Thanks for the vote!

Barry: And you posted a hilarious Twilight-ish parody. I am happy to be associated with that kind of ridiculousness.

Jamie: Well, I drink a lot of caffeine, so I'm always doing about 16 different things at once. Right now, I'm also crocheting a sweater with my feet.

PJ: A new goal? Eeep. Um... no. I do intend to keep reading new things. I have a bad habit of constantly rereading my comfort reads, and this challenge cured me.

Natalie: Hey, you've got a great excuse.

Kelly: The magical tattoos were pretty cool. It's an interesting twist on the standard fantasy type stuff if you like that kind of thing.

KC: Weepl is the word for people who haven't read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Don't be a weepl, peepul. Read it.

HG: Awww. Okay. Since you asked so nicely. :)

Christy: Yeah, I know. I'm one of those annoying overachiever types. Sorry. ;)

Elana: Hey, 10 is not bad at all. You've got lots of things going on too. Like maybe I life. I had one of those once....

WOW! Bows down to your awesomeness.

Congrats congrats! You DO read a lot. I've read only a few this year so far. :D

Sweet. You're a reading machine. A really funny reading machine.

You still have to read The Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian. I swear you'll like it.

Come on, make it 51.

Okay, I admit I have not picked up any of the books. That's because I'm too busy revising. (No, that was not a jab, just the truth.)

But the haiku reviews are brilliant!

PS - Dude, do you realize it's not even June and you already read 50 books in 2009. You're super(hero)fast!

Cate: Wow. I'm bowable. Kewl.

Glamis: Yeah, I do. I'm not one of those people who finds myself taking on the voice of things I read, possibly because I read so much. Interesting thought, that.

KM: It is absolutely on the list! It's just that there are other things on the list before it that have potential late fees associated with them. :)

Suzanne: You know, this whole time I've been all depressed because there are so many massively awesome unpublished mannies that I've read this year (like yours). Maybe they deserve special mention.

Mercedes: I couldn't have said it better. ;)
