Strangely enough, this commercial kind of makes me want to buy one of those blankets. Not to use it. Just to say that I have one.
Okay, so there's something that has been puzzling me. I am apparently a HUGE hit in Turkey. (I know someone somewhere now has the intense urge to gobble, and I feel compelled to say to you: Not WITH turkeys, you idiot, IN Turkey. As in the country.) I am not sure exactly what I've said that appeals to the Turkish audience. Is Turkey the secret heart of the merpire revolution? Do Turkish people have an intense love for all that is sparkly? Is Richard Simmons the International Spokesperson of Turkey!?!
Richard, my darling. We're talking about Turkey the country, not turkey the food.
But... but... you're MY spokesperson. And I fully agree that Turkey rocks the casbah. Not only does it seem like a beautiful country, but it also inspired that song by They Might Be Giants. And really, it doesn't get much better than THAT. But please, Richard. Please don't go.
Turkey, you are too kewl for me. The math is clear:
Turkey's kewlness level > Carrie's kewlness level
Although I still want to know why I'm such a big hit there.

I don't know if I have any readers in turkey. I have a lot in Indonesia.
ahem, (wipes tears from eyes)...the wtf blanket just made my day.
thank you...
Your humor is infiltrating the world! :)
That WTF blanket video is so freakin funny. I seriously bought my husband a Snuggie for his bday this week. I'm not kidding. One, because it's so funny!!! Here honey happy birthday enjoy your snuggie! Two, he'll probably use it.
They're probably hanging out and waiting for the announcement of the Turkish edition of No Pain No Brain . . .
That's the not the best part of the WTF blanket. You can get them in different patterns. For instance, we sell OSU WTF blankets where I work. Yep. Sleeved blankets displaying your favorite sports team. OH! Good publicity idea: get a WTF blanket with your book's picture all over it, then wear it all the time so people have to ask about it. Because they will. Oh, they will.
I used a Snuggie in a desperate situation. I'm still disgusted with myself.
"Sara's not getting a date for the prom, look at her!"
Mwahahahaha!
Yesssssssss.
Since we're on the subject of snuggies. Did you know they have one for dogs?
Perhaps the domestic pets in Turkey wear them?
Holy crap, I'm crying. Crying!!!!!!!
That's one of the funniest things I've ever seen. And it still doesn't stop me from wanting a Snuggie. I'm cold dammit.
The question is how do you know you're such a big hit in Turkey? Where do you find out that kind of stuff?
Also, have you seen the new snuggie commercial for "fashionable" snuggies? Zebra and leopard print!

Soooo designer!
This was too funny! Okay, so I checked out your book since you mentioned you signed with Wendy, and last week when I was talking to her she was telling me about your book! As soon as I saw the title, I knew! It sounds fabulous!
I've never wanted a Snuggie...but I'd totally purchase a WTF blanket!!
Nice!
I've seen travel shows on Turkey, it IS lovely!
"And dads can lie in suggestive positions..."
Made my day!
:) Love it!
My SIL says the blanket makes you look like a Monk.
Turkey loves you because you tell it like it is....you are not afraid to post the commercial of the WTF blanket....you realize that the world, especially Turkey, needs to know these things.
Haha! Love the WTF blanket commercial. It made my day :) So what you're saying is... You are taking over the world? One country at a time. Right?
(I can't view that blanket video...I'm surrounded by students and don't dare. But I will when I get home.)
(I've hit your site a few times -- am I your big Turkish fan?) Almost a year before we came here, I did a post about donating my hair to Locks of Love, with photographs of before and after. I got a ton of hits from Turkey: apparently a bunch of hair fetishists found my middle-aged self just irresistable and I kept finding these awful things on my site meter, like "lady SCoTland with long haIR" and "woman hair love". You haven't posted anything about hair, have you...? :)
