Things That Make Me Snarf - Hammer Time and Jasper Fforde

Seriously, people. You need to start doing some Give Backery. You'll recall from yesterday that I got a free computer. Then, I went into my favorite Borders last night, and lo and behold, there was Jasper Fforde, one of the funniest people in the universe. I think I honestly squealed like a fangirl. The greeter at the front door sure looked at me funny.

So please, if you haven't entered to win a free critique, do so. I'm swimming in good luck and need to spread it around. Kinda like peanut butter, only not really.

In the meantime, here's my gift to you. A flash mob wearing MC Hammer pants. I would totally do this.

Was he just there to sign or was he actually giving a presentation before signing? Just curious. I saw him in New York a couple years ago and I totaly agree about him being so funny.

Love Jasper Fforde. (And I love that video.)

Wow! That's awesome! One day I'm going to read his Thurday Next books. They've been on my list for years it's just I feel like I should probably read Jane Eyre first!

I think that has to be my favorite flash mob video of all time. Although I do also like the Sound of Music train station one because I'm such a sucker for that movie.

That video is proof that there are far too many people with way too much time on their hands.

Jasper Fforde? That's awesome.

Is that flash mob a part of Improv Everywhere?

Kristi: Yeah, I want some of those pants. Glad you liked it!

Stephanie: He read and answered questions for about an hour. It was beyond lovely.

Andrea: I think they need to make Happy Give Backery cards. :)

CKHB: YOU rock. So thank YOU!

Valerie: Reading Jane Eyre is helpful, but not absolutely necessary. And I DEFINITELY recommend the Thursday Next books for a good laugh.

Jamie: And someone, somewhere, has a closet full of gold MC Hammer pants.

Mariah: No, it's not from Improv Everywhere, although I ADORE them. The whole no pants on the subway thing really cracks me up.

You didn't by chance happen to ask Jasper Fforde when he's going to come out with the next Nursery Crimes book, did you? Because I've been dying for a third one for like three years. Le sigh.

I'd wear those pants too, if only just to humiliate my kids.

My husband LOVES Jasper Fforde. He'd have swooned if he'd walked into a bookstore and seen him.

LOVE Jasper Fforde! You lucky thing. This wasn't such a good day for me and now I'm all smiles, so your give-backery is truly awesome.

Valerie, I hadn't read Jane Eyre when I read Fforde's Thursday Next series. I read it later, but I wasn't lost at all when reading The Eyre Affair.

Carrie, he's such a great man. I've paraphrased him once or twice on my blog from things he said in answer to my questions when I met him. Very affable. And hilarious.

How did you know that is my favorite flash mob of ALL TIME?
