If you have a hookup for that kind of pen, we need to talk.
Today, my son has a tryout for soccer, or he will if he stops having a temper tantrum (le sigh). I am officially a soccer mom. Unfortunately, I don't do so well with stereotypes. I'm so tempted to wear my zombie platforms to tryouts. And maybe pigtails. I happen to like pigtails.
And we wonder why my kid throws temper tantrums. (For the record, it has everything to do with not wanting to eat his breakfast and nothing at all to do with my proclivity for pigtails.)
Speaking of pictures, here's a sneak preview of the awesomeness to come from my photographer.

Those are fantastic! Fill me with shoe envy. My favorite pen of all time was sent to me in the mail by Bill Cameron after I won an ARC of his book DAY ONE. My husband steals it. I scold him afterward. Congrats!
Those are the very shoes the world wants!
The proper pen is the hardest of all things to find. I'vbe bought so many pens at Office Max over the past two years, the hung my name over the aisle. Not one yet is what I wanted it to be.
Very cool shoes, Carrie!
I know what pen NOT to get. I was all excited to buy 15 pens for 99 cents the other day. What a buy! Except I came home and NONE of them worked. So my advice is dont go cheapo.
I love those shoes! Too bad they don't come in pen form too.
I like Pilot Precise pens, but they do smear. Maybe you could just go with the indelible Mr. Sharpie, which dries so fast you can't get it on you by accident and which has the added benefit of causing hallucinations from its smell toward the end of a long day of signing books.
Hmm. All my fave pens are very liquid and would probably smear on you. I'll see if I have any lefty-friends I can send your way with recommendations...
The hand in that pic is awesome! lol!
Thanks for the picture related compliments, peeps! And KC, would you believe that I *can* smear a sharpie. And then the side of my hand gets all black.
Talent, I tell you. TALENT.
I am wearing the same shoes right now!!!!
OMG I must have those shoes!
I prefer gel pens but they smear very easy so they are not for you. I am sorry. They must make a smear free pen. If they can do it for mascara then they have the technology!!
Love the shoes! Can't picture you as a soccer mom, tho, pigtails & shoes or not! All my favorite pens are the gel ink kind, which, unfortunately, do have a tendency to smear. A good pen really makes my writing day!
I happen to like pigtails too.
As a leftie, I prefer the G2 gel pens. Still a little smearage, but not TOO horrible. They also never seem to get stuck, which I usually have trouble with.
OR! I just realized you could sign with a Prismacolor pencil. It's an oil-based colored pencil, so it doesn't really erase or smear.
I love uni-ball jetstreams: http://amzn.to/bdDopp
They have quick drying ink, and they aren't all scritchyscratchy like most ball points.
While I'm not left handed, I just performed a very scientific smear test that involved me signing things (terribly) with my left hand and no smudging! Hooray!
ps. Those shoes are brilliant!
I used to have the same problem with pens but somehow now manage to hold the pen so I don't touch the paper (I'm a leftie too) don't ask me how I do it because I honestly don't know.
Cool shoes! I can't deal with stilletoe heals thou so buy plattos instead(is that how you spell it?) and then I look like a friendly giant since I'm quite tall to start with.
Oh and pigtails! Who doesn't love pigtails?!
I'd go with something like the Tuff Writer.
This has absolutely NOTHING to do with your blog (other than the fact that they're both awesome), but whilst searching for a better vid for the pen above, I was reminded of this video from the 08 SHOT Show. Maaag-nificent.
Hahahaha that's an awesome picture. :) Good luck finding a pen!
You want a pen that shows you're a serious writer. Forget the cheapos. Go with an executive type like Cross. It's the perfect signature pen.
The heels are bad ass. Keep your zombie hand away from them!
(tell the shoes it's always best to give the hand a double tap--it's the only way to be safe)
I'm a lefty too, and I love, love, LOVE Pentel EnerGel pens. They write super smooth and dry instantly, so no smearage, and they come in a variety of colors, which is equally important--you know, for doodling, I mean, editing purposes. ;) They're not too bad on price either. And I think they're on sale at Staples right now for like half off. :)
