Monster Bash!

So I have these two books coming out next month, and they're practically overflowing with monsters. We've got werewolves and zombies and yeti and unicorns and ligers and dragons--it pretty much puts Dorothy's lions, tigers, and bears into perspective, doesn't it? Anyway, in celebration of the monsters AND my favorite holiday ever, I'm declaring October to be Monster Bash month! I'm going to be featuring some monster themed artists, freebies, and crafts that you will not want to miss. Because they are awesome.

And to make the pot sweeter, I'm going to give out a free signed collection of Grable books to one random commenter on any Monster Bash post. You'll get BAD TASTE IN BOYS, BAD HAIR DAY, and an e-copy in the format of your choice of BAD YETI. This contest starts with this post, so comment below and let me know your favorite monster! I'm going to have to go with zombies, because I find lurching corpses to be really hilarious.

You can also file this under Things I Find Really Hilarious.

While zombie scare me the most, I enjoy vampires the best.

Zombies are the scariest to me. I feel like that is something that is not out of the realm of possibility so that is quite terrifying. But I love vampires. I would be OK if they really existed!

Oh, Carrie! Thank you for the fun & generous giveaway!! <3

Another zombie lover here!! (even if they scare the crap out of me lol)

In fact, years ago, one of my BFFs was in the movie Dawn of the Dead as an extra!
Wouldn't THAT be a hoot?!! :D

Oh, this is a tough one. I have a (rather unhealthy) obsession with zombies, but, if I had to pick a favorite monster, it would be Frankenstein. Specifically the Frankenstein in Monster Squad. Because I'm a dork and I love that freakin' movie. :)

The Gentlemen! That episode f'ed me over for WEEKS. But that's my scariest. My favorites are, of course, in Where the Wild Things Are.

Oh this is hard. I have to say Vampires. I know they've been so overdone recently but the old bloodsuckers that will literally pull your heart out are my favourite! They are so scary!

I think Zombies and Werewolves would be runners up though!

Not sure if it's fair to characterize him as a monster, but Death (as in, the horseman) from Supernatural is one of my favs. He's just.... absolute.

His intro. (Riding a white horse, you'll notice.)

And HERE'S a conversation between Death and Dean in a Chicago pizzeria.

He's calm, soft spoken, carries himself with dignity and grace, and clearly fears nothing. There's evidence of his power in just about everything that he does. That can be much more alarming than some jag off with a machete.

Side note: I think I might need to start walking with a fashionable cane. [I'd like his cane or his car, and I damn sure can't afford that sweet sweet ride.]

So Hoffy is perhaps the funniest Hoff thing I have seen ever... and now I can't get my brain to unsee it.

Zombies. Totally. They are a 9 on the awesome scale. They would be a 10 except that they walk funny. Other than that... A total 9.

My favorite monsters are definitely the Weeping Angels from Doctor Who. They're scary, yeah, but mostly they're just sad. They can't even look at each other!
